As per class discussion of The Envelope System, here is a tutorial that shows The Envelope System in an easy to follow "how-to" format. It outlines how to realistically take charge over the finances God has entrusted you with by planning your spending amounts in advance with results of expected savings. Savings which in turn creates an "untouched" Savings Account with the goal of $1,000.00 by the end of 2011!!!! To view additional versions of The Envelope System scroll/search after this video is complete. And for the next two weeks The Envelope Systems will be the featured topic when you visit the class' Financial Management Video Bar to the right. Saving knowledge is just a click away!

I LOVE the envelope system, I've been using it for about 2 years and it really does help me control my spending and make sure I have money for the expenses that I need them for for. I do a lot better with the envelope system than I do with jsut playing it by ear with what's in my account. And I have a sort-of peace of mind, that I put up what will be needed in the future. I especially love the fact that I can put up a week's worth of offering in them, so I always have something to take with me to church. I'm gonna check out the EEBA site - sounds like a great idea.
ReplyDeletei checked out the eeba site. it is a good program. the only downfall is your sista does not want to pay for it since i have more than 10 bills to pay each month. if you have 10 or less it looks like a good place to start with keeping spending in check. call me a cheapskate, ( i don't mind);) i will continue to use the envelopes and the info on the disk from class. it is helping me see where my $$$ is going and makes me think if God would be pleased if I spent the $$$ He has given me stewardship over on some things.
ReplyDeletei also like what i have read thus far in the book. am willing to share if someone would like to borrow it. just let me know.
luv and blessings,
sis. jo
Sooo, as we discussed i have been using the envelopes for tithe and groceries. I was so elated when I spent only what was in the envelope on grocery and nothing more. Almost down to the cent! I am starting week two of using the envelopes I think I will add a gas envelope this week!! Be consistent everyone! Be encouraged! You can do it!

I want to thank Sis. Nancy for ministering to me through her post. I have been feeling overwhelmed that I needed to tackle the envelope system all at once. It never crossed my mind that I could start off slowly and build up steam. I am going to commit to enveloping my grocery and gas money next month. Thank you.
